WORKSHOP on “Anger Management”

WORKSHOP on “Anger Management”

A workshop on “Anger Management” was organized in the school auditorium on 14 December, 2019 by Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh for classes 8-10. The resource person for the workshop was “Ms Nishtha Narula” who is a counseling psychologist.

The main objective of the workshop was to sensitize the students on what is anger, how it affects a person’s relationship with everyone around us and importance of managing one’s emotion in such a situation.

Discussions in the workshop on various topics related to anger; from distinction between good and bad anger, to what are the factors that trigger anger, internal and external consequences of anger, anger style etc. were talked about. She also explained the reason behind violent mood swings in teenagers and why they behave the way they should not. She also discussed the consequences of action driven by bad anger and certain tips on how to control and manage one’s emotions during adverse situations.

It was an interactive session full of self-reflection where students admitted that sometimes they too went overboard when it came to fights and irritation over trivial matters. They were also enlightened that striving to achieve one’s dreams and success is the key to distract oneself from rage and staying happy. At the end, queries by students were answered and a helpline number was given to them in case they are stressed about some situation and want to share their concerns.
