125th Year of Swami Vivekananda’s famous Speeches at Chicago

Today happens to be the day when Swami Vivekananda delivered his remarkably famous Chicago speech that is still remembered even after 125 years in India and around the world.  To commemorate the event, a special event was held in the school.

An elocution competition was held and the topic for the competition was“Swami Vivekananda -An Inspiration”. Through this competition the students got to know about the life of Swami Vivekananda and how he introduced Hinduism to the world, how he spoke about tolerance inclusion and the need to end fanaticism. Such was the effect of the remarkable message that he was given a two minute standing ovation in Chicago in 1893.
